All roads lead to 25 West Road, Cubao, Quezon City as the Architects, complete in their sports gear, made their way to the CENTRO ATLETICO where the most awaited 1st Badminton Clinic was held. The venue is a sports center which boasts of eight (8) badminton courts (sprung wooden floor with Taraflex mats), regulated lighting system, air-conditioned bathrooms and locker rooms, indoor and outdoor café, children’s playground, secured parking area for up to 80 cars, indoor wall climbing facility, multipurpose hall for other cross-training sports activities, weights and conditioning gym and a batting cage with pitching machine. It offers a Summer Camp 2004 which features modules on badminton, fencing, wall climbing and taekwondo that is conducted by current and former national team coaches and players.

The 1st Badminton Clinic was conducted by the San Juan Mandaluyong Chapter under the leadership of Chapter Pres. Rosario “Ching” Q. Roxas in cooperation with the Architects’ Badminton Federation (ABF) which is headed by Arch. Catherine Carunungan . The affair was highlighted by a badminton training under the expertise of Mr. Salvador ‘Badong” Banquiles, Program Director and Head Coach, former National Team Member/Coach and JVG Veterans Doubles Champion; together with his son, who is also well versed in badminton. Adults and children alike took turns in hitting and missing the shuttle cock. The tiring, though healthy exercise, was followed by a sumptuous lunch and a raffle sponsored by Urban Hardware Inc.. Indeed it was a happy a fruitful affair sponsored by BOYSEN PAINTS.
