UAP District A3 Sportsfest Ends

The United Architects of the Philippines – District A3 held its annual sports fest on April 04 & 18, 2009.

The Opening Ceremonies and elimination round of the basketball competition were held on April 04 at the St. Vincent School gym in West Avenue, Quezon City. The opening ceremony was graced by UAP Vice President for Area-A Mike Tomeldan and Engr. Ruben Cueto, Marketing Manager of major sponsor Boysen Paints.

The championship of the basketball was held on April 18 at the Central Colleges of the Philippines gymnasium, with Tandang Sora beating the QC-Central chapter for the pennant. Arch. Phimilou Carpina of QC-Capitol took home the Most Valuable Player award.

Badminton competitions were held at the Battledore & Shuttlecock courts with the combined team composed of Quezon City, QC-Central, and Tandang Sora winning over QC-Silangan, QC-South Triangle and QC-Capitol.

The bowling and billiards events, meanwhile, were held at Playdium in Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. Tandang Sora – the eventual Overall Champion – bested all other chapters in the bowling tournament, while individual honors went to Arch. Daisy Pineda of Quezon City and Arch. Noel Tugas of Tandang Sora for high game; Arch. Noel Del Rosario of QC-South Triangle took the high series honors. Arch. Michael Isidro of QC-Silangan chapter won the billiards event, besting Arch. Raffy Banaag of Quezon City.

Architect Dondon De Guzman of the QC-Central chapter is the Director for UAP District A3.
