UAP District A-4 Joint Induction

The District Council Officers of the United Architects of the Philippines’ District A-4 were inducted into office on July 23, 2008 at The Grand Terrace in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.

Inducted was District Director Virgilo “Bong” Regala, Jr., along with Deputy District Director Leonardo Antonio, Secretary Rouel Agpawa, Treasurer Ronald Pamintuan, and Auditor Jojito Ubina. Members of the Council are Chapter Presidents Minnie Rosel of Diliman, Lucille Chua of Elliptical, Weesen Kua of New Manila, Dennis Villanueva of CAMANAVA-Hilaga, and Carmela Abalos of Nova Central.

The officers and new members of the different chapters in the district were also inducted.

Keynote speaker was the Hon. Noli “Kabayan” De Castro, Vice President of the Republic of the Phillipines and Chairman of HUDCC, who challenged the architects to “help the poor and prove that architects and architecture are not only for the rich.”

Ar. Bong Regala presented a list of programs and activities for his term, some of which are a tour of the outdoor heritage museum in Bataan, an outreach program at the Asociacion de Damas de Filipinas settlement in Paco, and the rehabilitation and construction of school buildings in conjunction with the Department of Education’s Adopt-a-School Program.
