UAP District A4 Holds Joint GMM & Construction Laboratory

The United Architects of the Philippines District A4 held its second Joint General Membership Meeting and Construction Laboratory at the Mozzaico Showroom in Libis, Quezon City on October 23, 2012.

Deputy Vice President for Area A Virgilio “Jun” Andres invited the attendees to the Area A Assembly which will be held in February 2013 in Ilocos Norte. Lectures/CPD seminars, tours, a golf tournament and a photo contest are among the activities lined up for the Assembly.

District A4 Director Malu Gutierrez announced that the Area A District Directors and Chapter Presidents Assembly would be held on October 26 to discuss the proposed 2013 UAP By-Laws. A review committee headed by Deputy District Director Frank Alican was formed to collate and prepare the comments and concerns of District A4’s member-Chapters. A national consultative assembly will be held in December.

Carlo Bustos, president of UAP Diliman Chapter and committee chair of the Committee on Product and Technical Knowledge of UAP’s Professional Development Commission announced that CPD seminars aimed at providing UAP members with an avenue for continuing professional education will start on November 12. This is to prepare the Filipino architects for the 2015 implementation of the “2007 ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Architectural Services (MRA on Architectural Services)” by improving our expertise by constantly adding to our existing breadth and depth of knowledge, being up-to-date with the latest trends and keeping ourselves abreast of issues relating to our various fields of practice.

The Joint GMM and Construction Laboratory was organized by the New Manila Chapter and sponsored by Gyproc, Boysen Paints and Mozzaico.
