September 26, 2007 DIGITAL ARCHITECTURE & TECTONICS by Runddy Ramilo, MSc Contributed by: Ramilo, Runddy Dacallos
This article outlines the digital design and modern forms that architects and designers have increasingly used. These are different types of morphologies that been derived from the use of "genetic code" available in 3d packages like Maya(MEL) and 3D Studio Max(Maxscipt) and Theory of Emergence. (Runddy Ramilo, MSc)
Emergence in the context of architecture are the application of biology paradigms(like Morphogenesis) that been applied to architectural methodologies through the use of Algorithmic Code. Architects can program easily a basic computer application to generate non-linear volumetric forms that cam modifiable to any spatial arrangements.
